Been a busy summer

I haven't had time to post, it was a busy of summer of trialing with the dogs, renos, work and club activities.

We are back to working on the renovations on the house.  The main part of the roof is done and now its on to putting the siding back on and some trim.  Soon we can start on the inside of the room.

Here is a picture of my finished sampler quilt.  I had entered it in the local fair and it placed second :0)

Here is a little lap quilt that I finished a month ago.  Reese seems to approve of it. She is snuggled on my lap.

Hopefully I'll get better at posting :0)

Update on SAL

Got my June blocks done and posted on SAL.  Wasn't sure I would be able to keep up now that the nice weather has arrived.

I have been working on other projects here and there but not really enough to post yet.  Hopefully soon :0)

Busy Long Weekend

It was a great weekend full of fun doggy stuff, meeting River's new little brother (and no, we don't have another dog!), training, hiking and tracking.
We also worked on our front flower bed, it was badly needed....
Isn't that scary?
Ahh.....much better.  Its still not complete but its a big improvement.

We also have a nest of baby blackbirds right outside our front door, great entertainment for the cats. I managed to get a picture thru the branches.

I also finally got my sampler quilt to the longarm quilter, really excited to see that finished.  As soon as it comes back I will post it.  We also watched some fireworks with one of our neighbours, sadly no pictures, can't believe I forgot my camera.

Hope everyone had a great long weekend!

I got outside before any rain fell which was early in the morning and spent some time taking pics of the flowers in my garden.  Amazing I could find them between the weeds, lol.

I pass by this area alot and for many years and finally took a picture of it yesterday on my way to the vets with my old dog that isn't doing well right now.  The reason for me staying close to home and doing some stitching.  No pics of that though.  Once I get a bit more progress that is worthy of a shot I will post it.

I have been working on my stitch-a-long.  I'm a bit ahead which is a good thing with the nice weather approaching.
Starting to work in the garden as well, now that we have some sun!

I have been busy with my new Golden puppy so don't know how much crafty things I will be doing over the next few months as he will keep me very busy!

It was also Mother's day and we went out for a nice lunch which included my Aunt from Holland.

Crazy weekend weather

The weather went from this pouring rain all day,

Please, let me in, I'm getting soaked......

Thanks mom, much better :0)

To this by morning, they were calling for 2-4 cm but we got certainly got more than that.

I have been working in my sewing room so there will be a report on that soon.  It was a great weekend to have the woodstove on do some baking and sewing.

Sunday Snow

Snowy days like today are one of my favourites.  I love the look when it falls softly on every surface.
We took the dogs for a hike to the farm so we could enjoy the winter wonderland.

Enjoy your Sunday!

I got the top done of my sampler quilt from the class I took late last year.  I am really happy with how it turned out.
January and February are very busy months for me at work and this is the first chance I've had to post.

With a snow storm on its way I thought I would share a couple of pics of flowers from my valentine's bouquet my hubby gave me.  I just love getting flowers in the winter time.  A reminder that spring will be      coming again.......right??
