New Fabric

I'm startin a quilting class where I bought my new sewing machine.  I thought it would be a great idea to practice with my new machine with help not too far away.

This is the fabric.  I fell in love with the flower in the back and bult it from there.  Really looking forward to my first class.

This fabric is for the block of the month club.  I didn't think I'd like the gold but its growing on me.  I've got the first month done.

I'm thinking of using this format for my own large quilt at home, which sadly I've been working on for around 2 years.  My how time flies!
And last but not least my new baby.  For the little practice I've had on it, I love it so far!   Its theQuilt Expression 4.0.

Good News

Just had to share the good news on Tucker's growth we had removed from his foot.  Turns out that it is benign!!

On another foot note....(and that just came to me :0)....) Belle is doing fine since she broke her toe so badly that it had to be amputed.  It was just too fragile to pin.  The hardest part is keeping her quiet.  The lack of her toe is not slowing her down one bit.

Been too busy to do alot of posting lately but I will post about my new machine soon.

Pure....

Look what came in the mail today!
What can I say I just loved everything about the fabric....I mean really, blueberries and chocolate, who can resist??  I saw this on http://www.modabakeshop.com/ and knew I had to add this to my growing collection of fabric.

Oh and the other exciting thing is my new sewing machine just came in.  I'll post about it when I go and pick it up :0)

Vacation in SSM

We had a great vacation spending time with Chris's family in the Soo, four wheeling, hunting and relaxing.  I'm not sure who had more fun us or the dogs.
Ben loved riding in the Rhino.  He went out pretty much every day.  Both Belle and Tundra enjoyed sitting in the back of Chris' ATV, ears flapping in the wind. Saved alot of walking looking for partridges. The fall colours were great on the drive up.  We also enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner with the family in town before we left.  It was great to see everyone again.

Below is a beaver dam, of course called Beaver Lake.  It is quite a large lake held back by this dam.  It was really neat to drive along it and see the water level above you.

The dogs on one of our many hikes through the forest.
and a little catch and release in the evening.
